Roopkund Trek

Roopkund Lake is situated at an altitude of 5029 mts. in the interior of the Chamoli district, Roopkund is famous for the mysterious shallow lake of about 2 mts., with the edges covered with snow almost throughout the year. After the snow melts, skeletal remains which are believed to be 500-600 year old, many theories explain the findings but none seem satisfying. The lake is nestled amidst panoramic mountain scenery.

ITINERARY

Day 01 - : Arrival at Kathgodam. Proceed to Lohajung Drive 105 km

(You are expected to reach at Kathgodam on previous night) Arrival at Lohajung (2250 mt). Dinner & over night stay

Day 02 – Lohajung To Didina (2550 m, 12 Kms, 5-6 hour trek )Didina is the famous village for gadwalls local culture at an altitude of approx 8,200 Ft. Didina village is famous for the home stay as well. After completing the second day of the trek the trekkers enjoy the night in Didina village

Day 03– Didina to Bedni Bhugyal (3354 m, 10 Kms, 8-9 hour trek

Arrival at Bedni (3354 mt). Establish camp at Bedni. (Camping on the beautiful meadows) Dinner & Over night stay

Day 04 – Bedni to Patarnachoni (3650 mt) Trek 7 kms
Arrival at Patarnachoni. Lunch at day time. Dinner & Over night stay.

Day 05 - Patarnachoni to Bhagwawasa (4100 mt.) Trek 06 kms
Arrival at Bhagwawasa. Lunch at day time. Dinner & Over night stay.

Day 06 – Bhagwawasa to Roopkund (4450 mt.) Trek 05 kms.
Trek Baggubasa to Roopkund and back to Paatarnachuni 5Kms/7Hrs
The climb continues to the lake at Roopkund. Try to height gain towards Juragali Top (4620 mt.) While the route on the Roopkund trek will take most of the time, the return is a fairly easy descent. We stop at Bhagwasa for Lunch and then trek back to Paatarnachuni for overnight stay

Day 07 Trek Patarnachoni to Wan (2450 mt). Trek 17 kms

Arrival at Wan. Drive to Lohajung. Drive 15 kms.Luch at Day time. Dinner & Over night stay.

Day 08 Lohajung to Kathgodam. Drive 105 km

Lunch on the way. Drop at Kathgodam. Trek ends
